We have many new subscribers this week.  It was great meeting all of you at the YMCA Healthy Kids Day event last Saturday.

I thought this would be a good time to give you a quick tour of Macaroni Kid and tell you a little about the newsletter.  My goal is to make Macaroni Kid a fabulous resource for Louisville families.  It should be easy to get out with your kids.  With my help it is!

Shrek Trivia: Check the Louisville East Macaroni Kid Facebook page from now until May 25^th for Shrek trivia.  You’ll get one contest entry for each trivia question you answer and 2 entries if you answer correctly.  You must use the link included with the question to get credit for your answers.  There will be nine trivia questions, check the Facebook page frequently so you don’t miss one.

Materials Needed:

Empty toilet paper rolls

Black, silver, or gold paint (this will be the "metal" of your bracelet)

Paint brush or sponge

Scissors

Glue

Dried beans in lots of colors (we bought the Bean Soup mix)

Take your toilet paper roll and cut it lengthwise. Then cut it in thirds. This will make three cuff bracelets.

Now you can paint the bracelet. You can make it silver, gold, or black. We did ours in black.

Spring is the perfect time to get outside with the kids.  I've added a group of outdoor locations to the Business Directory because they are often overlooked on the calendar.  You don't need a special event to enjoy these venues.  Pack a lunch or an afternoon snack, put on some comfortable shoes and get outside!  Don't forget the sunblock.
