Crayon Wreath

What better time of the year to use crayons than Back to School. I got packs of 24 for 40 cents each and it only took 2 1/2 boxes.

You need:

A wooden 12 in floral/craft ring (I got mine at Michaels for $1.99)

3 24 packs of crayons

Hot glue gun

Children's Music Academy (CMA) is new to Louisville and an exciting way for children to learn muisc. Much more than a music appreciation class! CMA will teach your children piano & keyboard, harmony, rhythm, note reading, singing, ear training, composition, ensemble playing, recorder and even guitar. Saturday, August 27 - Guided Hike at Jefferson Memorial Forest

Natural Areas volunteers will be hosting guided hikes on the last Saturday of each month throughout 2011. Most hikes have a brief topic of interest for the day, and volunteers are always eager to answer questions about the Forest and interpret the natural world to visitors.  August 27 – Learn about insects while hiking the McConnell Trail (5.4 miles) – strenuous. Meet in the Paul Yost parking lot. May go over 3 hours. Bring snacks.

With 18 locations surrounding Louisville, you can always find something happening at the LFPL!  Weekly reoccuring library activities are listed here.  One time only activites will appear on the newsletter and calendar.  Since this is Louisville East Macaroni Kid, I've limited my search to include the eight libraries below.  For a complete list of all library activities, view the LFPL website.  Residents of Oldham county can apply for a library card at the LFPL if you or your spouse works in Jefferson County.
