I recently received a sneak preview DVD of Disney Jr's new series, Doc McStuffins in the mail.  It has quickly become a favorite in our house and even replaced the one show that my TV adverse 4 year-old daughter will watch.  Even my 6 year-old son and a friend enjoyed it.  This show is a home-run!

Saturday, March 24 - Kickin' It for Kids Expo and Fund Raiser presented by Hwangs

Demonstrations from all 800 active students of Hwang's Martial Arts with high-flying techniques, children from ages 3 to adults up to age 67 will be performing as well. There will also be board breaking and high action stunts. Grandmaster Hwang will also be performing his once a year demonstration.  Take part in silent auctions, children's activities and stop by the vendor booths too! All proceeds go to the Kosair Children's Hospital with a goal of $50,000.
Where: Kentucky International Convention Center
When: 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Who: Fun for all ages
How: Purchase tickets in advance or drop in. 
Cost: Tickets are $5 in advance for adults, $3 in advance for children at any Hwang's Martial Arts location. Or purchase at the door $7/adults, $5/children.

Saturday, March 24 - The Miracle Worker @ APHB

The Miracle Worker dramatizes the efforts made by the visually-impaired Annie Sullivan to teach the blind-and-deaf Helen Keller how to communicate. Our staged reading of the play features actors who have a connection to the story like no other; they are blind, themselves, and will be reading the script in braille. The event is free, but space is limited, so registrations are required. Best for older children and adults.

With 18 locations surrounding Louisville, you can always find something happening at the LFPL!  Weekly reoccuring library activities are listed here.  One time only activites will appear on the newsletter and calendar.  Since this is Louisville East Macaroni Kid, I've limited my search to include the eight libraries below.  For a complete list of all library activities, view the LFPL website.  Residents of Oldham county can apply for a library card at the LFPL if you or your spouse works in Jefferson County.
