  One of the best attended consignment sales in Kentuckiana!  Come shop for gently used clothing, outerwear, shoes, toys & more. Many itesm will be discounted on Saturday.

Friday, September 24 - Ronald McDonald Movie Night Featuring Bolt

Enjoy the fun family movie, "Bolt" under the stars at the Zoo! Special $5 Zoo admission after 5 p.m. includes pre-movie activities, games, Zoo exhibits open until dusk and a popular family movie at sundown. Be sure to bring your blankets and lawn chairs; snacks and drinks will be available for purchase. Ronald McDonald will entertain the crowds at 7:00 p.m. before the movie starts. Free for Louisville Zoo members.

Saturday, September 25 - Pursuing the Masters Family Day

Co-sponsored by the Louisville Zoo, this event will invite families to celebrate the Museum’s current exhibition Pursuing the Masterpiece. Visitors will be invited to paint and drape fabric on the Speed’s front lawn with artist Bart Galloway, sculpt sugar and see a painted menagerie come to life with live animals from the Louisville Zoo in the Sculpture Court! Admission is free. Guests can also drop in to an Art Sparks workshop Let’s Get Abstract.

Saturday, September 25 - Ken-Ducky Derby

Befiting the Harbor House of Louisville, this family friendly event includes live music from One Horse Records recording artists, family activities including arts and crafts and bounce houses, and booths from area businesses and organizations, with the Duck Derby race precisely at 3:00 pm (there's even a call to the post from a real bugler!!)

Tuesday, September 28 - Anime at St. Matthews

Anime is short for "animation." Orinating in Japan, it has developed a great teen following here in the US as well.  If your teen is a fan of Anime, this is the place for them!

Friday, October 1 through Saturday, October 2 - Spirits of La Grange Ghost Tour

The 1 ½ hour lantern-lit walking tour will take you inside three locations with about eight stops along the way for a distance of 12 blocks. Tours run every Friday and Saturday through October.
Where: Tours leave from the Oldham County History Center, 106 North Second Avenue (right on the Courthouse Square).
When: 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM (additional tours available at 7:30 and 8:00)
Who: Due to the potential intensity of spirit activity, tours are recommended for children 13 and up.  The guides sometimes get pretty spooked themselves!

Friday, October 9 - Safe Sitter Course

Safe Sitter is a medically accurate program that teaches boys and girls ages 11 to 13 how to handle emergencies when caring for young children. The fee for the class is $45, which includes a messenger bag, manual and other useful items, as well as breakfast, lunch, snack and refreshments for the graduation ceremony. Scholarships are available based on financial need. Class size is limited, so early registration is recommended.

Saturday, October 2 - Meet Your Best Friend at the Zoo

The Louisville Zoo will partner with local animal adoption agencies to host a unique pet adoption event in the Zoo bus parking lot. The Kentucky Humane Society, Metro Animal Services and more will be on hand with adoptive pets. A display of pet-friendly cars and accessories will be at the Zoo courtesy of Sam Swope Auto Group.

Monday, October 4 - Autumn Exploration Art and Nature Camp

Who wants to spend a day off school in the house in front of the TV?
Join us at the Louisville Nature Center for an exciting day spent in the great outdoors! We will spend time hiking in the preserve, learning how nature adapts as the seasons change, and making artwork that celebrates the beauty of autumn! 
Campers need to bring their own lunch and dress for the weather.

I'm a jeans and boots kinda gal, so where my fashionista daughter came from is really anyone's guess.  But we recently discovered a site that put her talents to good use.
