May is Derby time! Also, it's that last push before school is out. May 1st:  Go to Fan Fest Day and see the new American Pharoah exhibit at the Kentucky Derby Museum. Have tea with the Derby princesses at the Fillies Children's Tea.
May 2nd:  Take your dog to Happy Tail Hour at Waterfront Park. Hit the spraygrounds at The Parklands, they turn the water on for the season today.
May 3rd:  See the horses at Dawn at the Downs. See the parade floats at the Pegasus Parade Preview Party.
May 4th:  Splat out Cancer and watch the Steamboat Race
May 5th:  Go to the locals' Derby, Thurby. Watch the Pegasus Parade. Go to Lowe's Build and Grow and build a Chalkboard Planter.
May 6th:  Spend the day at The Oaks. Check out the Derby City Brewfest and drink some beer from Against the Grain (my favorite).
May 7th:  Build an Angry Birds bird house at the Home Depot kids workshops. Go to Derby of course.
May 8th:  It's Mother's Day, take your mom to brunch and go to the Cinco de Mayo Fiesta.
May 9th:  Play volleyball at the Norton Commons YMCA. Adult coed pick-up sports begin in May.
May 10th: See the beautiful flowers at the Whitehall Peony Festival
May 11th:  Always wanted to learn piano? Take a free lesson at Piano Possible. My son just had his first recital, he loves it.
May 12th:  Learn some history at History Hounds at the Oldham County Historical Society.
May 13th:  Go to an outdoor concert at Foxhollow Farm's Summer Concert Series.
May 14th:  Learn something new at the LFPL How-To Festival. Watch Robin Hood at StageOne's Movie Series.
May 15th:  Check out art and homes at the Norton Commons Art Festival & Spring Homes Showcase.
May 16th:  Learn to code at the Coding Club for Kids at the Okolona Library.
May 17th:  Play at Minecraft Creative sessions at the Middletown Library.
May 18th:  Check out the Festival of Faiths at Actors Theatre.
May 19th: Go see Harry Connick Jr. at the Kentucky Center. 
May 20th:  Have fun at the St. Bernard Picnic and Festival. Try all the chocolate on the Chocolate Lover's Stroll
May 21st:  Go for a walk on the Waggin' Trail. Celebrate Spring at Bloomfest. Listen to some music at Forest Fest.
May 22nd:  Watch a magic show while raising money for Kosair Charities and The Kids Center for Pediatric Therapy at The Magic and the Wonder.
May 23rd:  Find a new playground to try this Summer. Broad Run and Gateway Park are now open, check out more HERE.
May 24th:  Go to Tinker Tuesday at the South Oldham Library.
May 25th:  Take a break and let your kids have fun at Parents' Day Out at the Norton Commons Y.

May 27th:  Challenge yourself to some Night Climbing. See a drag race at the Oldham County Fairgrounds.
May 28th:  Go on a canoe tour on Beargrass Creek.
May 29th:  Enjoy the music at the Kentucky Reggae Festival.
May 30th:  It's Memorial Day. Go for a Hike, Bike & Paddle at Waterfront Park. 
May 31st: Sign up for free karate classes
