Great Walking Paths - Anchorage Trail

June 6, 2020

Are you looking for a great place to walk and hike if/when the weather ever cools down? Check out Anchorage Trail! It has been one of our family favorites for years and I thought I would share it with everyone today.

Anchorage Trail is located in Anchorage, KY. The official address is 11507 Park Rd. Here is a parking map. The start of the trail is where the circle is right off of Evergreen Rd on the map. It is a 2.1 mile long paved path that loops around that is perfect for strollers, scooters, bikes, and dog-walking. It is super clean and very well maintained. There are no bathrooms that I am aware of.

As soon as the trail starts out there is a fun wooden swing with lots of open space to run around in. There is another wooden swing further up past where the trail splits. There are two big bridges and many beautiful spots that are perfect for photo ops. You will also come to an unpaved path to your left that you can take that will lead you to a little playground.

Go back out to the paved trail and follow it a little further then you can take the wooden walkway to your left to go out and look over a wetlands area where Little Goose Creek empties into Willow Lake. Past that, there is another small wooden walkway where you can look over Willow Lake too.

We find and see something new every time we visit! New flowers, birds, and wildlife, you never know what you will see! Find more info on their Facebook page and plan a trip here soon.
