Play America is more than a concert—it’s a FREE family and community event that promises to be a highlight of the summer. Beginning at 6:00 pm, guests are invited to the "Family Field", where they can enjoy food trucks, community musical performances, bounce houses, balloon creations, musical crafts, face painting, and more!
For the concert, the Louisville Orchestra—led by Teddy Abrams—will present a celebratory mix of classical and contemporary pieces all are sure to love. From beloved summer classics like Vivaldi's "Summer," and "The Star Spangled Banner" to crowd favorites like John Williams' "Main Title" from Star Wars and Tchaikovsky's "Finale" from 1812 Overture, Op. 49, there's something for the whole family in this summertime celebration!
Tickets are not required, but registration is recommended. By registering, guests will ensure they receive important updates about parking, programming, and event details.

Details: Celebrate Independence Day with us on Friday, July 4, 2025, for an evening of fun, music, and fireworks on the Big Four Lawn
This year’s celebration will once again feature “Waterfront’s Most Talented,” a dynamic variety show produced in partnership with Jou Jou Presents, showcasing an exciting lineup of local and regional talent. While the full list of performers is still being finalized, you can expect an entertaining mix of music, dance, and more—all set against the stunning backdrop of the Big Four Bridge illuminated in red, white, and blue.
Event Schedule:
- 5:00 PM – Family activities and live DJ
- 5:00–8:30 PM – Kosair for Kids Children’s Area featuring family-friendly games and activities focused on science, music, art, and nature
- 6:45 PM – Opening ceremonies and National Anthem
- 7:00 PM – Talent showcase begins
- 10:00 PM – Fireworks over the Ohio River

17th Annual Norton Commons Fourth of July Parade

Details: This beloved neighborhood tradition will feature fire trucks, scouts, walkers, bikers, golf carts, classic cars, and more! The parade route will take us from The Grand, turning left onto Meeting Street, and heading straight through the heart of the neighborhood, ending at the North Village fountain. Water stations will be available halfway through the route, and cool treats and refreshments will be waiting for participants at the finish line!
