Clifty Falls State Park is located in Madison, Indiana. It has always been a favorite of my family, with lots of different trails to choose from, waterfalls, a pool, an inn with a restaurant, campgrounds, a nature center, daily activities and lots more. We recently went and explored trail 7, which takes you to see both Big Clifty Falls and Little Clifty Falls. The trails here are quite rugged, and there are many staircases! While I saw some toddlers hiking, this is not the easiest place for littles and not made for strollers at all. My kids are ages 12, 10, and 7 and kept up easily, but make sure they have some sturdy shoes, definitely no flip flops. See the property and trail map HERE.

It's well worth the drive and navigating the hilly trails. It is a very beautiful area with lots to explore! Downtown Madison Indiana is a small town with many small shops, ice cream parlors, and lies right along the Ohio River. "Up on the hill", as we call it, on the north side of town is every fast food, grocery store and amenity you might need.
I will add that Indiana State Parks charge an entrance fee! It is $9 for out of state daily visitors and $7 for in-state daily visitors.
