Derby Dinner Playhouse will open “Fancy Nancy the Musical” on May 25, 2024 as part of their Children’s Musical Theatre Series. Public performances run May 25, June 1, 8, 10, 15, 22, 29.
From the top of her tiara down to her sparkly shoes, Nancy's ready to take the spotlight in her first dance recital. But when someone else gets picked to be the prima ballerina, Nancy is stuck playing a dreary, dull tree. Can she still bring fancy flair to her role when it isn't the one she wanted? Adapted from the bestselling books, “Fancy Nancy the Musical” is a funny, frilly ballet story with a lot of heart.
“Fancy Nancy the Musical” is based on the book series by Jane O’Connor and Robin Preiss Glasser. The book was adapted for the stage by Susan DiLallo with music and lyrics by Danny Abosch. Derby Dinner's production of “Fancy Nancy the Musical” is under the direction of Sally Scott and the cast will include Katelyn Webb as Nancy, Ann McDonald Weible, Embry Thielmeier, Heaven Williams, Shaquille Towns and Mandi Hutchins.
All public performances of “Fancy Nancy the Musical” are on Saturdays with Breakfast at 9am and Lunch at 12pm. An evening performance has been added on Monday – June 10 at 5:45pm. All performances feature a kid friendly buffet. This production is most suitable for ages 3 - 12.
