Kentucky Shakespeare's Philosophy is to immerse young actors in Shakespeare’s ideas and words to guide them to use the power and the expressiveness of their voices, bodies, and thoughts to create great works of art.  This unique summer camp experience promotes collaboration, confidence, and the desire for lifelong learning.

All Camps are 9am-4pm, Monday-Friday.  Drop-off begins at 8:30am and Pick-up ends at 4:15pm.  Please note: There will NOT be Camp sessions on June 19th and July 4th to observe federal holidays.

The Groundlings – Ages 5-6

This is a one-week introduction to the magical world of theatre that explores the fundamentals of character creation and storytelling. Our goal is for students to cultivate a love for the arts through theatre games, arts & crafts, imagination, and storytelling.

Session 1: June 10-14 $195, Session 2: June 17-June 21 $156 (No Wednesday Session, Non-Performance)*, Session 3: June 24-28 $195, Session 4: July 8-12 $195, and    Session 5: July 15-19 $195

* This Camp Session is for students who may not be comfortable or interested in a performance but would still enjoy the Camp Shakespeare experience. There will not be a performance in Central Park on the final evening. We invite students who may want to be introduced to the world of theatre and the arts without the pressure of a performance to join us for this special week.

The Noblings – Ages 7-10

In this two-week camp, our campers will continue to discover the world of theatre, acting, and Shakespeare with acting exercises, scene work, theatre design, and crafts. They are guided to create their own version of a Shakespearean production to share with family and friends on the final day on KY Shakespeare’s stage!

Session 1: June 10-21 $295, Session 2: June 24-July 5 $295, and Session 3: July 8-July 19 $295

The Revelers – Ages 11-14

The Revelers is a three-week exploration of acting and Shakespeare. Campers will learn about voice, movement, text analysis, improvisation, and stagecraft. Daily rehearsals encourage ensemble building and self-confidence that concludes with a performance on the Kentucky Shakespeare stage.

Session 1: June 10-28 and Session 2: July 1-19

The Mechanicals – Ages 15-18

This camp is a great option for older students interested in beginning or continuing their exploration of Shakespeare performance through scene work, character creation, creative collaboration with their peers, and more! This camp offers a deeper look into monologues and scene studies and concludes with a performance on the Kentucky Shakespeare stage.

The two week sessions will focus on a specific play and the one week sessions will each have a different focus.

Session 1: June 10-21 (2 Week Session) $295, Session 2: June 24-28 (1 Week Session) $195, Session 3: July 1-12 (Two Week Session) $295, and Session 4: July 15-19 (1 Week Session) $195

The Globe Players – Ages 15-18

Our five-week professional training programming culminates in a full production on the C. Douglas Ramey Amphitheater stage. Students participate in the full rehearsal and technical process as well as in voice, text, movement, and acting workshops. Before they present their production as part of the summer season, they will have the chance to work with professional mentors from the summer company, get hands on experience in their areas of interest, and strengthen their craft with this one of a kind summer experience.

This program requires an audition and then acceptance into the program before registration can be processed.  Please email kyle@kyshakespeare.com to schedule.
