The Countdown Begins

If your kids follow the Jefferson County Public School calendar, you are counting down to the end of the school year, that's 9 or less days of school depending on when you are reading this.  If you're kids follow the Oldham County Public School calendar, you might as well begin counting down the remaining days of summer since they are done Friday (5/18)!  In case you were wondering Oldham County, there's 88 days of summer....start the countdown! 

Regardless of where you attend school, summer is coming and you have over 80 days to fill with fun and excitement. If want to escape the inevitable "I'm bored," comments, keep reading Macaroni Kid!  Our summer calendar is already full of activities and I'll be adding more each month.

The Magic & The Wonder

A Magic Show Benefiting Kosair's Children's Hospital

Three of Las Vegas’ most prominent magicians are bringing their performances to Louisville to raise money for our Kosair Kids.  In it's fifth year "The Magic & The Wonder" promises to amaze audiences of all ages on May 20th at the Louisville Palace.  The show stars Vegas headliners Steven Bargatze, Ardan James and husband and wife duo Kalin and Jinger.  All proceeds benefit Kosair Charities and Kosair Kids!  The show begins at 5:00pm but get there early because the fun starts when the doors open at 4:00pm with ...

Douglass Hills Try-Athalon

A Rewarding Challenge for Your Child This Summer

Kids Triathlon's provide the perfect launching pad for youth to break into the sport of Triathlon's, not to mention it's a great way to stay active and have fun and the Douglass Hills Kids Try-athalon is no different!  The swim will take place in the Douglas Hills Swimming Pool. The bike and run will take place in the Park and Streets that surround the Pool. The event is open to kids ages 6-14 and participants will be placed in one of three categories based on age.

With 18 locations surrounding Louisville, you can always find something happening at the LFPL!  Weekly reoccuring library activities are listed here.  One time only activites will appear on the newsletter and calendar.  Since this is Louisville East Macaroni Kid, I've limited my search to include the eight libraries below.  For a complete list of all library activities, view the LFPL website.  Residents of Oldham county can apply for a library card at the LFPL if you or your spouse works in Jefferson County.
